Bay Beach Hire first started operating in 1986 in those days it was predominately small sailboat rentals. Merva and Tony purchased the business in 1994 and saw the potential in kayaking, as it was something that anyone could attempt. We were fortunate to meet Ian Fergusson who had recently won a gold medal in kayaking in the Olympics and he recommended using ocean kayaks. A decision we shall never regret. These kayaks tick all the boxes - durable, stable and great tracking. Over the years we have managed to fine tune the business and keep up with the times! We both have a commitment to quality service and safety. We specialise in independent rental of kayaks, paddle boards and bikes

We have qualified staff that are certified in kayaking and paddle boarding. After over 20 years of owning and operating Bay Beach Hire we are proud to still be here! We love teaching and helping others to experience the beautiful Bay of islands at a very affordable price.
